Frequently Asked Questions

Why don’t you take insurance?

Insurance places limits on the type of mental healthcare you can receive and the format in which you can receive it. By choosing to be a self-pay practice I am able to offer sessions that extend beyond an hour as well as offer non-traditional interventions that are proven to be effective in treating trauma. Other benefits of not using insurance include extra confidentiality (no third party involved) and upfront pricing. Prior to the start of your first session you will receive a “good faith estimate” outlining the total estimated cost of therapy based on our discussion of your treatment plan.

What payment options do you accept?

Payments are accepted via debit, credit, HSA or FSA card. I can also provide a “super bill” that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement if requested.

An intensive sounds scary, what exactly is that?

Traditional 50-minute therapy sessions can sometimes feel like just enough time to surface issues without fully addressing them. Intensives offer the opportunity to go deeper without feeling rushed. It takes a lot of courage to work through trauma and you deserve a space where you feel comfortable to move at your own pace.

What to Expect:

  • Pre-Session Consultation: A 15-minute call to discuss your goals and determine if a Therapy Intensive is right for you.

  • Customized Treatment Plan: We’ll design a session that includes Accelerated Resolution Therapy and mindfulness practices in addition to other interventions based on your individual needs.

  • Integration Support: Post-session resources and strategies to help you apply insights gained during the intensive to your daily life.

Can you prescribe medication?

I am unable to prescribe medication but I pride myself on having a network of medical professionals that I am happy to refer you to if we determine that medication would be useful in your treatment plan. Holistic care is essential for treating trauma!
